We don’t play politics at Beyond Limits, but football – Olumide Ajibolade

Beyond Limits Head Coach Olumide Ajibolade attributes his team’s tremendous achievements to their focus on football rather than politics.

Ajibolade’s comments came after leading his team to another successful run at the 2024 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 Playoff in Enugu, where they secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

“We are very happy because NPFL is the top of the top; that’s where the big boys play. For us to get the ticket to go there is a testament to the work we have done this season,” Ajibolade said.

He emphasized that their success is not due to luck but to the commitment and investment put into the sport. He urged other football clubs in Nigeria to adopt a similar model, investing in infrastructure, facilities, and coaching education for sustainable results.

“I don’t think it’s by luck; I think we are here because of the commitment and investment that we have put into our football. There is no shortcut to success. You have to be intentional about it, and we are bearing the fruits of that investment,” Ajibolade stated. “To every team, trying to win a match is not success. If you want sustainable success, invest in infrastructure, facilities, and coaching education. That’s how you get sustained results.”

Ajibolade highlighted that Beyond Limits focuses on football, driven by the investments in personnel, trips, and overall development. He encouraged other clubs to follow their model to elevate Nigerian football.

“We don’t play politics; we play football, and the football only comes from the investment from the people we put in the job, the money we spend on trips, and everything we do. Every club should look at the model we are trying to create and try to do something on this scale. Eventually, when we have ten to fifteen clubs like this, Nigeria will be a force in the world,” he concluded.
