Michael Olise bags brace as France U-23 spank Dominican Republic

Former Eagles winger Michael Olise showcased his talent by scoring twice as France U23 thrashed the Dominican Republic 7-0 in a pre-Paris 2024 Olympics friendly.

The match took place in Toulon on Thursday, and Olise’s performance left many Nigerian fans wondering what might have been if he had chosen to represent Nigeria.

Just after deciding to represent France at the Olympic games, Olise delivered a stunning performance. He scored his first goal in the 51st minute, finishing off a swift counter-attack from close range. His second goal, just four minutes later, was a spectacular half-volley from 25 meters out, leaving the Dominican Republic goalkeeper with no chance.

Olise’s goals were part of a comprehensive victory for the French team, with Enzo Millot, Alexandre Lacazette (twice), Maghnes Akliouche, and Rayan Cherki also scoring. This result will boost the team’s confidence as they prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Recently, Olise joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace for a reported €60 million fee. The move marks a new chapter in his career, and he explained that the switch from the Premier League to the Bundesliga was a strategic decision to further his development.
