Abdul Maikaba appointed Wikki Tourist head coach
Former Rangers International coach Abdul Maikaba is set to join the Nigeria National League (NNL) club Wikki Tourist FC of Bauchi.
Maikaba’s appointment was confirmed on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with the unveiling set to follow later in the day.
Abdul Maikaba was previously the coach of Kano Pillars during the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season but was relieved of his duties due to a series of poor performances and disagreement with the management team.
Updates from Bauchi indicate that the management of Wikki Tourist has finalized arrangements to appoint Maikaba as the head coach for the upcoming season, with a mandate to lead the club to NPFL promotion.
Wikki Tourist missed out on promotion to the elite division last season, finishing third in the Northern Conference Group A table.
