Boost for NPFL as UK TV company presents sponsorship deal
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has landed a lucrative sponsorship deal with UK multinational television production company, IMG/Jvco, renowned for producing all English Premier League (EPL) matches.
This partnership is set to enhance the television production quality of the NPFL for the 2024/25 season.
Senator John Enoh, the Minister for Sports Development, and Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), recently met with top officials from IMG/Jvco in England to finalize the agreement.
The UK-based company is expected to visit Nigeria soon to inspect stadiums suitable for television production and to sign the sponsorship agreement.
The NPFL/IMG sponsorship deal is slated to last between three to five years, with an option for renewal as per the agreement terms.
In a media briefing last Thursday, Minister Enoh confirmed his recent trip to England was to secure sponsors for Nigerian sports and not to hire a coach for the Super Eagles, emphasizing that the recruitment of coaches is the sole responsibility of the NFF.
