Manchester City fined £2 Million for breaching kick-off and half-time regulations
Reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City have been hit with a £2 million fine for breaching regulations concerning the timing of kick-off and half-time intervals.
The fine, imposed by the Premier League, comes as a result of 22 separate breaches related to the timing of matches. It has been reported that City players and staff were repeatedly late ahead of kick-off times and at half-time.
While City has accepted the fine and apologized for the infractions, they continue to face a more serious legal battle concerning over 115 alleged financial irregularities. The club maintains its innocence in these broader charges and is currently addressing them in court.
Manchester City, who have won the Premier League title for four consecutive seasons and six times in the past eight years, are still dealing with the fallout from these regulatory issues.
Additionally, the club is facing scrutiny from a hacker threatening to release emails that could potentially incriminate City further.
