NPFL U17 Youth Team to take Two-Week break before Europe tour

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U17 Youth team will take a two-week break starting today, Sunday, and will return on August 18 before heading to Europe.

The team will travel to Spain for further training and to explore potential professional contracts with Sevilla.

Assistant Coach Ken Chuku shared the news in an exclusive interview with BSN following the team’s 1-0 victory over Assess Football Academy Abuja.

Chuku expressed optimism about the team’s progress, noting their recent success: “Technically we are almost ready. As you can see, we get better every day.”

He emphasised the importance of the upcoming European tour: “This is the future of Nigerian football. The U17, U20, and Super Eagles players of the future will come from these players. We are going to Spain to protect Nigeria’s image and benefit NPFL clubs. The income generated will support the club’s initiatives.”

The U17 team has won their last three matches and is preparing to showcase their skills on an international stage.
