Giannis Antetokounmpo unhappy about Bucks missing NBA Christmas game
The Milwaukee Bucks will not have a game on Christmas Day this year, and star player Giannis Antetokounmpo is not pleased about it.
NBA insider Shams Charania revealed the NBA’s Christmas Day 2024 schedule, which includes games like San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors, and Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns. The Milwaukee Bucks, who have played on Christmas Day every year since 2018, will not be featured this time.
Antetokounmpo took to social media to express his disappointment, posting, “No Christmas game?! ” with laughing and crying emojis.
The Bucks are the only NBA Championship-winning team not to play on Christmas Day since 2020. Despite dealing with a calf injury last season, the Bucks lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Indiana Pacers and finished with a 49-33 record, placing third in the Eastern Conference.
In addition to his NBA disappointment, Antetokounmpo recently wrapped up his basketball journey at the Paris 2024 Olympics. As Greece’s flagbearer, he led his team but faced a tough tournament. Greece lost their opening game to Canada 86-79, and then to Spain 84-77, despite Antetokounmpo’s strong performances. Greece was eventually knocked out by Germany in the quarterfinals.
Antetokounmpo also made headlines with a viral photo featuring himself and Nigerian basketball star Nicole Enabosi.
