Former teammates host Tijani Babangida for ‘get well dinner’

Former players of Roda JC in Holland organized a special get well dinner for former Nigeria international Tijani Babangida.

Babangida, who also serves as the President of the Professional Footballers’ Association of Nigeria (PFAN), was honored by his former teammates in a heartfelt ceremony in Holland. This gesture comes after a tragic motor accident that claimed the lives of Babangida’s son, Fadeel, and his younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida.

The former Roda JC players have played a significant role in bringing Babangida and his wife to Holland for treatment. They have pledged their ongoing support for the couple until their full recovery.

In a statement, the players emphasized the importance of solidarity among footballers: “This is what players must do. Players must be there for each other during and after football because they have become one family as a result.”

An emotional Babangida expressed his deep gratitude and promised to promote the same spirit of unity and support within Nigerian football.
