‘Chelsea will kill Victor Osimhen’s career’ – Nigerian Prophet warns
Renowned prophet and founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a strong warning to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, advising him against a move to Chelsea. In a brief video posted on social media, Primate Ayodele expressed concerns that joining the London club could negatively impact Osimhen’s career.
“I want to quickly advise as directly that Osimhen should not go to Chelsea because if he goes there, he will not shine and it will kill his career,” Ayodele stated. He further suggested that if Osimhen were to transfer to Chelsea, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) should reconsider calling him up for national duties, as the club’s environment might hinder his performance. “NFF, if Osimhen should go to Chelsea, don’t call him again, and also calling him to the Super Eagles still needs to be previewed properly because we have what it takes to the World Cup and Nations Cup,” he added.
This is not the first time Primate Ayodele has made statements about Chelsea. In 2023, he claimed that the club was cursed and needed spiritual cleansing to overcome its challenges. “Chelsea are a finished club. If they are not careful, they will not function again,” Ayodele had said.

He suggested that the club needed to seek blessings from its former owner and undergo spiritual cleansing to avoid further setbacks. “Otherwise, if they put 10, 20 strikers, defenders, and the best goalkeeper in the world, there is a curse troubling Chelsea at the moment. Any team that now faces Chelsea can beat them; they need spiritual cleansing for them to wake up to the challenge that is ahead of them,” he warned.
Chelsea, in need of a prolific striker, has shown strong interest in Osimhen following the collapse of their deal for Atletico Madrid’s Samuel Omorodion. Despite Osimhen’s impressive performances with Napoli, his hefty €130 million price tag has deterred several suitors, including Paris Saint-Germain. However, Chelsea remains keen on securing his services for the 2024/25 season.
With the transfer window closing soon, Napoli is actively working to finalize the deal, and Chelsea’s continued interest keeps Osimhen’s move to Stamford Bridge a possibility.
