Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca remains tight-lipped on Victor Osimhen transfer speculation
Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, has kept his cards close to his chest regarding the potential transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the summer transfer window nears its end.
Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing Osimhen from Napoli and has allegedly proposed a deal involving £39 million, Romelu Lukaku, and Cesare Casadei to persuade Napoli to part with their star forward.
Osimhen has recently returned to training with Napoli amid ongoing transfer speculation. Despite this, Maresca has remained tight-lipped about the potential move.
Ahead of Chelsea’s 2024/25 Premier League opener against Manchester City, Maresca was asked about the possibility of signing Osimhen or bringing back Atlético Madrid forward Joao Félix. He declined to comment, saying, “I’m not going to comment on Atleti and Napoli players. The club knows exactly what I think and hopefully, before the window shuts, we can bring in some more players.”
With Manchester City’s Rodri ruled out of their upcoming match, Maresca will be hoping to start his Chelsea tenure on a high note. However, having either Osimhen or Félix in his squad could have been a boost as they face the reigning champions.
