Israel Adesanya backs Anthony Joshua with $10,000 bet ahead of Wembley showdown

Nigerian-born UFC star Israel Adesanya has thrown his support behind fellow countryman Anthony Joshua ahead of Joshua’s IBF heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois this Saturday at Wembley Stadium in England.

Adesanya, renowned for his bold predictions and love for sports betting, revealed on Instagram that he has placed a $10,000 wager on Joshua to win the highly anticipated bout. In the post, the UFC champion shared an image of his bet slip, captioned, “ÒGÚN‼ This fight got beef…grab the #stake sauce,” indicating his confidence in Joshua’s victory between rounds 10 and 12. Should Joshua secure a win in that time frame, Adesanya stands to collect an estimated $50,000 payout.

Despite Adesanya’s confidence in Joshua, the 26-year-old Dubois has declared his intention to knock Joshua out. Known for his aggressive fighting style, Dubois expressed his determination to deliver only the second knockout loss of Joshua’s career. “I aim to knock him out. That’s the mindset, that’s the intention coming into this fight,” Dubois told Sky Sports.

Joshua, now 33, is riding a wave of momentum after four consecutive victories, including a knockout win over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. He is eager to solidify his status as a three-time heavyweight world champion, while Dubois looks to make a name for himself by dethroning one of boxing’s biggest stars.

The all-British clash promises to be an intense encounter, with over 96,000 fans expected at Wembley Stadium to witness the drama unfold. The outcome of this bout could have major implications, not only for the fighters’ legacies but also in setting up potential future matchups against the likes of Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk.

With both Joshua and Dubois focused on victory, and Adesanya placing his trust in his fellow Nigerian, the stage is set for a thrilling spectacle in the heavyweight division.
