Maduka Okoye reacts after Udinese loss to AS Roma

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed his disappointment following their 3-0 defeat to AS Roma. It was a challenging outing for Okoye, who conceded three goals for the first time in the Serie A this season.

Reflecting on the match, Okoye acknowledged the quality of the opposition, stating, “We started the season well, but today was a difficult match, we played against a great team.” He also highlighted the team’s struggles on the day, particularly in terms of movement and communication, which contributed to their loss.

However, the Nigerian international remains optimistic about upcoming matches. “We are disappointed, but we must immediately look forward. Salernitana and Inter are two great opportunities, we must stay focused,” he told Udinese’s club media. Okoye emphasised the importance of bouncing back, with their attention now shifting to the Coppa Italia and a crucial league match against Inter Milan on Sunday.
