Tottenham flog Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford

Manchester United suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur, adding more pressure on their manager, Erik ten Hag. Spurs outclassed United in all areas of the game, securing a dominant win at Old Trafford.

Tottenham started strong, scoring just three minutes into the match. Micky van de Ven made a powerful run and delivered a perfect pass to Brennan Johnson, who easily finished to give Spurs the lead.

United struggled to respond, and Johnson almost scored again, hitting the post after another quick counterattack. Marcus Rashford created United’s best chance, setting up Alejandro Garnacho, but his shot also hit the post.

The game took a turn for the worse for United just before halftime when Bruno Fernandes received a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on James Maddison. Playing with 10 men, United found it hard to keep up with Tottenham’s pace.

Tottenham doubled their lead just after the break when a pass from Johnson was deflected by Matthijs de Ligt, allowing Dejan Kulusevski to score. United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana made several great saves, including a double stop against Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke, but it wasn’t enough.

Tottenham sealed the win in the 78th minute when substitute Pape Matar Sarr set up Solanke for the third goal. United had a few late chances, with Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro going close, but they couldn’t break through.

This defeat leaves Manchester United in a difficult position, and the pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag to turn things around.
