Klay Thompson reaches 3-Point milestone as Dallas Mavericks fall to Houston Rockets

The Dallas Mavericks played their fifth game in eight days and showed signs of fatigue in their 108-102 loss to the Houston Rockets, dropping their season record to 3-2. Despite a strong late-game push, the Mavericks couldn’t recover from a slow start.

However, the night brought a silver lining as Klay Thompson reached a career milestone. Thompson, who connected on just two of nine 3-point attempts, became the sixth player in NBA history to hit 2,500 career 3-pointers, joining legends like Reggie Miller, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Ray Allen, and his former teammate Stephen Curry.

Thompson, acquired to enhance Dallas’s floor spacing alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, has proven to be a valuable addition to the offense. His shooting ability keeps defenses on edge, giving Doncic and Irving more room to work. Doncic finished the game with 29 points, while Irving added 28. Thompson contributed 12 points, although his efficiency was low.

The Mavericks now get a few days to regroup before hosting the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers at the American Airlines Center in a back-to-back.
