Steve Curry has message for his in-form Golden Warriors teammates

The Golden State Warriors have started the new NBA season impressively, boasting a 10-2 record. Under coach Steve Kerr, the team ranks fourth in offensive, defensive, and net ratings, showcasing one of the most balanced rosters in the league. Fans are already dreaming of a deep playoff run, with hopes of seeing Steph Curry lead the team back to the NBA Finals.

However, after the Warriors’ win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, 15 November, Curry urged caution during an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter. He reminded everyone that, despite their strong start, the team has yet to achieve anything significant and must continue working hard to ensure a successful season.

“You can give yourself confidence that you can hang with anybody in the league,” Curry said. “That’s all we’re trying to do after these last two years – just get off to a better start, so we’re not chasing down the stretch of the season. But we haven’t done anything yet. You don’t want to get too far ahead of yourself. We’re building a foundation and a new identity with this team. You want to be rewarded with winning while you’re building and learning, so it’s a good start.”

With 70 games still left in the regular season, the Warriors know there’s a long way to go. Staying grounded and focused will be key, as anything can happen over the course of an NBA season.

The team’s impressive form has undoubtedly sparked excitement about their potential. Yet, if the Warriors hope to return to the NBA Finals, they’ll need to refine their strategies, maintain their current intensity, and adjust to the demands of a shorter rotation. This version of the Warriors still has plenty to learn, but fans are eager to follow their journey every step of the way.
