Hungary Coach Adam Szalai shares positive update after medical scare

Hungary coach Adam Szalai has shared a brief but reassuring message after collapsing during his team’s Nations League match against the Netherlands on Saturday.

The Group A3 match in Amsterdam was paused for over 10 minutes early in the first half when the 36-year-old fell ill. A medical tent was set up near the dugout, and Szalai was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Despite the incident, the match resumed, with the Netherlands securing a 4-0 victory over Hungary.

Szalai later took to Facebook to provide an update on his health, writing: “Thanks for the lots of messages; I’m doing well.”

The Hungarian Football Federation also released a statement on Saturday evening, confirming that Szalai was “stable and conscious.”
