Nigerian-born basketball star OG Anunoby scores career-high 40 points as Knicks beat Nuggets

The New York Knicks beat the Denver Nuggets 145-118, with a standout performance from Nigerian-born OG Anunoby, who scored a career-high 40 points.

Anunoby led the Knicks to an impressive 60.9% shooting performance, helping the team tie a franchise record with 45 assists. This victory marked the third game of the Knicks’ five-game road trip.

Anunoby, who signed a record $212.5 million contract over the summer, has been on a scoring streak, particularly in November. He made 16 out of 23 shots, including 5 out of 7 three-pointers, to give New York a dominant offensive display.

By the end of the third quarter, Anunoby had already scored 38 points, with Knicks fans chanting his name as he sat on the bench. Karl-Anthony Towns joined in to celebrate with the crowd as their team cruised to victory.

Anunoby has now scored 20 or more points in eight games this season, all in November. His offensive performance has exceeded expectations, as his contract was mainly based on his defensive abilities.

With this win, the Knicks are now preparing for their next challenge against the Dallas Mavericks, the defending Western Conference champions.
