Nigerian President Tinubu Receives Mbappé’s Jersey from French President Macron

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently received a special gift from French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to France.

President Macron presented Tinubu with a jersey bearing the number 10, famously worn by Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé. The gesture symbolised the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and France and highlighted the respect Mbappé commands both in France and globally, including in Nigeria.

In a video shared on social media, Macron is seen smiling as he hands over the jersey to Tinubu. “Number 10 like Mbappé,” Macron remarked, showing his appreciation for the football star while celebrating the connection between both countries.

Macron also spoke warmly about his relationship with Nigeria, recalling his early years as an intern at the French Embassy in the country. “It’s an honour for France to welcome you, President Bola Tinubu, as a major partner and friend,” Macron said.

Mbappé’s Impact
While the diplomatic exchange took place, Kylian Mbappé continued his excellent form for Real Madrid, scoring his eighth goal of the season in 13 matches during a game against Getafe.
