Fans Concerned About Tyson Fury’s Body Language Before Usyk Rematch
Tyson Fury’s body language in a recent interview has raised concerns among fight fans ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
The two heavyweights will clash again on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after Usyk defeated Fury in their first fight last May. The Ukrainian won by split decision, becoming the undisputed world heavyweight champion.
Fury and Usyk both arrived in Riyadh ahead of the highly anticipated rematch, and on Wednesday, they took part in an open workout. However, Fury’s behaviour during the session left many worried.
Despite being in the ring for the workout, Fury didn’t throw a single punch, instead making what many fans saw as a teasing display. When asked about his upcoming fight, he said very little, only mentioning, “A lot of pain,” before adding, “Smash and damage.” When questioned about his beard, which has been a topic of discussion, Fury simply replied, “A lot of hurt,” before finishing with, “Hurt. Serious hurt. A lot of damage.”
Fans on social media were quick to react, with many expressing their concerns about Fury’s lack of energy and confidence. One user said: “Said the same thing last time and got outclassed. I can sense that low sense of confidence and his body language looks it. Usyk will get him out of there late.”
Another fan commented: “Emotional man, is a weak man. Usyk by TKO.”
Others felt that Fury seemed nervous and unsettled, with one person stating: “Intimidating? He’s just sulking like a child and looks edgy and nervous, like he doesn’t wanna be there.”
However, some fans still believed Fury could win, with one saying: “He’s all business. However, he has to be careful going for a knockout in the early rounds. Usyk has already proven he can hurt him, and if he does, I think he’ll have enough energy to finish him off.”
Another fan expressed their belief in Usyk’s skills, saying: “As much as Fury is a slick, top-notch boxer, I feel Usyk is even better. He has the speed and ring IQ to win this, and he knows he can hurt Fury. Usyk wins by stoppage in the later rounds.”
Fury lost his WBC title to Usyk in their first encounter. In their rematch, Usyk will defend his WBA (super), WBO, and WBC belts.
