Carlos Tevez ‘turned down’ £450,000-a-week move to China’
Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez reportedly rejected the chance to join the recent influx of players in China.
Argentinian media outlet Ole claims that the 32-year-old was the subject of an approach by Shanghai SIPG, who are coached by former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The report goes on to claim that Shanghai offered the former Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus striker €25m (£19.5m) to play in China for just 10 months – a weekly wage of more than £450,000.
However, Tevez turned down the offer in order to remain with boyhood club Boca Juniors, who he rejoined from Juve in June.
The likes of Jackson Martinez, Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Gervinho and Fredy Guarin have all recently made the switch to the burgeoning Chinese Super League.
