Nigerian Striker Ogbuehi Sixtus Joins Osasuna on Loan

Former Campos FC striker Ogbuehi Nzubechi Sixtus has signed a six-month loan deal with Spanish La Liga side Osasuna.

The 21-year-old Nigerian forward will initially play for Osasuna Promesas, the club’s second team, during the second half of the La Liga season. Osasuna, currently 11th in the league with 25 points, confirmed the move on their official website.

The deal includes an option for Osasuna to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season, providing Sixtus with an opportunity to establish himself at the club.

Sixtus joins Osasuna from Club Deportivo Eldense in La Liga 2, where he struggled for game time, making just five league appearances and featuring in one Copa del Rey match.

The young striker’s journey began at Campos FC in Owerri, where he scored nine goals in 16 matches during the 2021/2022 Nigerian National League (NNL) season. His performances earned him a move to Spanish side Ceuta FC.

In 2023, Sixtus was called up to the Nigerian U23 team, further boosting his profile. Last season, he showcased his goal-scoring ability in Spain’s fifth division, netting an impressive 18 goals, which earned him a promotion to Eldense in the second tier.

This move to Osasuna marks a significant step forward in Sixtus’s career, and he will be hoping to make a strong impact during his time with the club.
