Brighton Interested in Signing Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru from Lazio
Brighton and Hove Albion have shown interest in signing Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru from Lazio, according to reports.
The 23-year-old, who is known for his attacking style of play, joined Lazio on loan from Turkish club Hatayspor last season. The loan deal included an option for Lazio to buy him at the end of the season.
Just seven months into his loan at Lazio, Ayodele-Bashiru is now attracting attention from the Premier League. He previously played at the Manchester City Academy and could be tempted to return to England for a fresh challenge.
Brighton have reached out to Lazio to express their interest in the midfielder, ahead of a possible move, as reported by Sports Witness UK.
Although Brighton have already signed Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gomez from Inter Miami, they are still looking to strengthen their midfield this month. According to La Lazio Samoi Noi, Brighton see Ayodele-Bashiru as the right fit for their tactical setup under manager Fabian Hürzeler.
The Nigerian has impressed in Italy, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 games for Lazio this season. However, Lazio have no plans to sell him, as they see him as an important part of their long-term future.
