Fulham in Late Move for Samuel Chukwueze

Fulham FC have started last-minute talks with AC Milan over a possible deadline day move for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The Premier League club are looking to strengthen their attack after Harry Wilson picked up an injury during their 1-0 loss to Manchester United. With the transfer window closing soon, Fulham see Chukwueze as a good option to add more depth to their squad.

The 25-year-old has struggled for regular playing time at AC Milan since joining from Villarreal for €20 million last summer. Despite his reputation as a talented winger, he has not been able to secure a consistent starting spot under manager Sergio Conceicao. His performances have also faced criticism, especially after his mistake led to Inter Milan’s equaliser in their recent derby clash.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Fulham have now approached Milan to discuss a potential deal for the Super Eagles forward.

Chukwueze was expected to be an important player for Milan when he arrived in July 2023, but his time in Italy has been disappointing. He has made 25 appearances this season across all competitions, playing just over 1,100 minutes and scoring four goals with one assist. With strong competition for places in the Milan squad, he has often been left out of the starting lineup.

Despite his struggles, the Nigerian international remains a player in demand. Arsenal and Aston Villa have previously shown interest in him, but Fulham are now pushing to bring him to Craven Cottage before the transfer window closes.

Manager Marco Silva is keen to strengthen his wide options. While Alex Iwobi has performed well, Adama Traoré and Wilson have lacked consistency. Fulham are also considering re-signing free agent Willian, but Chukwueze offers a more dynamic attacking option.

The Cottagers have not made any signings this January and are also looking for a right-back, as Kenny Tete is out until April. Chukwueze could be interested in a move to Fulham, where he would reunite with his Nigerian teammates Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.
