Shooting Stars Sack Gbenga Ogunbote, GM Dimeji Lawal, Coaching Crew

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have sacked Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote, General Manager Dimeji Lawal, and the entire coaching crew with immediate effect.
The decision follows a disappointing 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign, which saw 3SC finish 8th despite starting the season with high hopes. The Oluyole Warriors ended the season with 15 wins, 9 draws, and 14 defeats in 38 matches.
Gbenga Ogunbote, who returned for his third spell with the club in August 2022, departs after almost three years in charge. Dimeji Lawal, a former player who served as General Manager, has also been relieved of his duties as part of a major restructuring ahead of the 2025/26 season.
This move comes just weeks after a senior club official dismissed speculation linking Ogunbote with Kano Pillars, insisting he would see out his contract. However, recent developments have forced the management to take a new direction.
3SC are now preparing a shortlist of experienced coaches to take charge before the new NPFL season begins on 22 August 2025. The club recently featured in the Eko International Cup as part of its pre-season preparations.
