Chelle: Super Eagles Still Motivated to Win Last Two Matches of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has said that his team will still be motivated for their final two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Chelle spoke to reporters after Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with South Africa on Tuesday night.
Bafana Bafana went ahead after an own goal by William Troost-Ekong, but Calvin Bassey scored a header to bring Nigeria level before half-time.
Nigeria must win both of their remaining games to have any chance of qualifying for the World Cup.
Looking ahead to the matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic in October, Chelle said:
“My players are professionals, and I know they will still want to win the last two games.
“A lot can happen in the next month. But before that, we need to look closely at how we played tonight, which won’t be easy.”
