Champions League: Buruk Confident Osimhen Will Be Ready for Frankfurt Clash

Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk is hopeful that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be fit in time for their UEFA Champions League opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
Osimhen has been recovering from a minor ankle injury he picked up during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda last week. The problem forced him to miss the Super Eagles’ next game against South Africa and also kept him out of Galatasaray’s league match against Eyupspor last Saturday.
Speaking after that match, Buruk gave a positive update on the 25-year-old forward’s condition. “Osimhen’s condition will be clear in a few days. We think he will play. He has pain, we will see if he can play with it,” the coach told SuperHaber.
Even if Osimhen does not start, he is expected to be in the squad for the trip to Germany.
The Nigerian has an impressive record against Eintracht Frankfurt. While at Napoli in the 2022/23 season, he scored three goals in two games against them in the Champions League, including a brace in Naples.
With that history, Frankfurt know Osimhen could be a major threat if he returns to action on Thursday night.
