Falconets Ready for Rwanda in U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, have settled into Kigali as they prepare to face Rwanda in the second round, first leg of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The match will be played on Sunday at the Kigali-Pele Stadium, formerly known as the Stade Regional Nyamirambo, and will kick off at 3pm Rwanda time (2pm in Nigeria).

On Friday morning, the players held a recovery session at their hotel gym. They trained with energy and determination under the guidance of the technical crew, showing readiness and strong spirit ahead of the clash.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed officials from Sierra Leone and Liberia for the game. Sierra Leone’s Aminata Fullah will be the referee, with Liberian Hannah Lydia Moses as assistant referee 1, and Sierra Leone’s Fatmata Mansaray as assistant referee 2. Love Tuu Wehyee from Liberia will serve as the fourth official. Seychelles’ Militna Ivanete Amrie will act as the match commissioner, while Amegee Aissata Ameyo will be the referee assessor.

The Falconets, two-time FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finalists, will be aiming for a strong result before the return leg in Nigeria.
