Lookman Returns as Atalanta Bounce Back with Big Win

Atalanta have quickly recovered from their heavy Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain with a strong 3-0 victory over Torino in Serie A.

The match on Sunday marked the long-awaited return of Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, who featured for the first time in four months.

Lookman, who had been sidelined following a failed summer transfer and a reported standoff with the club, came on in the final minutes. Though his time on the pitch was short, his return was seen as a big boost for the team.

By then, Atalanta were already in full control. Nikola Kristovic scored twice, while Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana added a goal and an assist. Lazar Samardzic also impressed with a key assist as La Dea sealed the three points before half-time.

The victory was a welcome response after Atalanta’s 4-0 loss to PSG earlier in the week, a result that had raised concerns about the team’s form.

Lookman’s return signals that differences between him and the club may have been resolved, and he is now expected to play an important role as Atalanta push for a top finish in Serie A this season.
