Iheanacho Scores as Celtic Draw with Crvena Zvezda

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to score for Celtic in their 1-1 draw against Crvena Zvezda in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday.

Coach Brendan Rodgers started with Daizen Maeda in attack, but Celtic struggled in the first half despite dominating possession. After the break, Rodgers brought on Iheanacho, and the striker made an immediate impact.

Just ten minutes later, Iheanacho controlled a pass from Benjamin Nygren and calmly placed the ball into the bottom-left corner to give Celtic the lead in the 55th minute. However, their advantage lasted only 10 minutes, as Marko Arnautović equalised for the Serbian side.

The match ended 1-1, with both teams sharing the points. Iheanacho now has three goal contributions in a row for Celtic, after scoring on his debut against Kilmarnock and providing an assist against Partick Thistle last weekend.

With this form, the Nigerian striker is making a strong case for a regular starting spot ahead of Maeda in Rodgers’ team.
