WAFU-B U17 Championship: Golden Eaglets to Face Black Starlets in Semi-Final

The Golden Eaglets played out a goalless draw with Burkina Faso’s Baby Stallions in their final Group B match at the Stade Lycee Scientifique on Saturday evening.

Nigeria started brightly and put the Burkinabes under pressure from the first whistle, but the West Africans stood firm in defence. Burkina Faso relied on counter-attacks, which the Eaglets managed to stop, leaving the game without a goal after 90 minutes.

Nigeria’s Boluwatife Thompson, who troubled the Burkinabe defence with his skill and clever play, was named Man of the Match.

With the result, the Golden Eaglets will now face the Black Starlets of Ghana in the second semi-final on Tuesday at the Stade Charles Konan Banny. The match will kick off at 8pm Nigeria time.
