Drogba Says Ivory Coast Fans Criticise Him for Supporting Nigeria’s Osimhen

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has said that some Ivory Coast football fans often criticise him because of his support for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who plays for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has become one of the top strikers in the world. In his early career, he spoke about how much he admired Drogba, who was one of the best strikers during his time at Chelsea.

Now, Drogba regularly praises Osimhen and has said he sees a lot of himself in the 26-year-old forward.

“Because of him, people from Ivory Coast complain and tell me to go with my Osimhen.”

He also added, “Osimhen is the kind of person that should inspire young people. He came from nothing and now he’s successful.”

Drogba was known for his strength, skill, and ability to perform in big matches. He believes Osimhen shares many of those same qualities.

Some fans in Ivory Coast may feel upset because of the strong football rivalry between Nigeria and Ivory Coast, two of the most successful football nations in Africa. Right now, Ivory Coast do not have a striker at the same level as Osimhen, which could explain their reactions.
