Nigerians Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi Get New Coach as Sean Dyche Takes Over at Nottingham Forest

Nigerian internationals Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi now have a new manager at Nottingham Forest after a dramatic few weeks at the club.

Forest have appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach after sacking Ange Postecoglou, who only lasted 39 days in charge. Postecoglou was removed just 17 minutes after a 3-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday.

The club is now in the Premier League relegation zone, and Dyche becomes Forest’s third manager in six weeks. The team started the season with hopes of fighting for European places but is now focused on avoiding relegation.

Dyche to Lead Forest Out of Trouble

Sean Dyche, 54, is a former Burnley and Everton boss and actually lives in Nottingham. He once played for the Forest academy and is known for his strong leadership and ability to build solid teams.

Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis made the decision to bring Dyche in after a poor run of results and internal issues. The club has spent £180 million on new players this season, but many of them were left out of the squad during recent matches.

Now, Dyche has to get the best out of a team full of talent — including Ola Aina, who has been one of the more consistent defenders this season, and Taiwo Awoniyi, who is recovering from injury and remains an important striker for the team.

Forest Fans Hoping for Stability

Forest fans are worried. After returning to the Premier League in 2022 following 23 years away, they fear falling back down again.

Football podcast host Matt Davies said, “It’s a dose of reality. We started the season with big dreams, but now we are in the bottom three. We cannot afford to get this wrong.”

Many believe Dyche can bring back some order and fight to the team. He once led Burnley to seventh place and European football, even with a smaller squad.
