Ja Morant drops 35 as Grizzlies take down Pelicans
Ja Morant picked up right where he left off attacking the rim, hitting jumpers, and putting on a show in Memphis. The Grizzlies’ star guard dropped 35 points, leading his team to a 128–122 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in their matchup on Wednesday night.
Morant’s energy carried the Grizzlies from start to finish, with Jaren Jackson Jr. backing him up on both ends 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks as the anchor in the paint.
On the other side, Zion Williamson was a force for New Orleans, filling the stat sheet with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals but even that wasn’t enough to slow down Memphis’ tempo.
The Grizzlies’ defense tightened in the final minutes, and Morant sealed it with a few clutch buckets to give Memphis an early statement win.
