Edidiong Ezekiel Shines as Enyimba and Abia Warriors Settle for Goalless Draw in Oriental Derby

Enyimba forward Edidiong Ezekiel once again stood out as Sunday’s clash between Abia Warriors and Enyimba Football Club ended in a goalless draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Edidiong, who scored his second league goal of the season last weekend in Enyimba’s 2–0 win over Kano Pillars, was in fine form for the People’s Elephants but could not find a breakthrough in the tightly contested encounter.
The match, known among fans as the Oriental Derby, lived up to its billing with plenty of intensity and attacking intent from both sides, but neither team managed to convert their chances.
Enyimba arrived in Umuahia with hundreds of travelling supporters, creating a lively atmosphere inside the stadium. Despite efforts from Edidiong, Kalu Nweke, and Joseph Atule, the former African champions were denied by Abia Warriors’ solid defence and excellent goalkeeping.
Home fans applauded their team’s resilience, while supporters from both camps praised the players for their discipline and sportsmanship throughout the match.
Enyimba will return to Aba next weekend to host Wikki Tourists, while Abia Warriors will travel to Yenagoa to face Bayelsa United as the Nigeria Premier Football League season continues.
