Enyimba Sack Coach Eguma After Poor Run of Results

Enyimba FC have relieved head coach Stanley Eguma of his duties following a series of disappointing results in the Nigeria Premier Football League. His two assistants, Ndubuisi Nduka and Joseph Boma, have also been asked to step aside.

Eguma, who joined the club midway through last season, was issued the notice after an emergency management meeting on Sunday. The decision came just hours after Enyimba’s shock home defeat to Wikki Tourist on Matchday 13 at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

According to the club, the dismissal takes immediate effect as they begin a full review of the team’s poor performances this season.

In the meantime, assistant coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has been appointed to take charge on an interim basis. He will lead training sessions and oversee preparations for Enyimba’s Matchday 14 fixture against Katsina United in Jos next Sunday.

The club says further decisions will be communicated after its internal assessment is completed.
