Should Liverpool Sack Slot? – Redknapp Gives His Verdict

Liverpool have already been told what decision they should make about Arne Slot’s future after a dreadful 3–0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League returned on Saturday after the international break, and champions Liverpool were hoping to ease the pressure following a poor run of results. But instead of improving, things got even worse.

Forest, managed by Sean Dyche, stunned the Anfield crowd with a comfortable win, leaving big questions over Slot’s future only months after he led Liverpool to the title.

Liverpool’s loss leaves them 11th in the table, closer to the relegation places than to leaders Arsenal. The Reds have now lost eight of their last 11 matches in all competitions, and five of their last six league games. Unsurprisingly, many fans are calling for Slot to be sacked.

But former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes the club should not act too quickly. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said:
“They need to be patient. Arne Slot deserves that after last year.”

Redknapp added that Liverpool’s struggles may be linked to the tragic death of Diogo Jota and the challenge of settling in their summer signings.

Despite the growing pressure, Slot took full responsibility for the defeat.
“If things go well or go badly, it’s always my responsibility,” he said.
He admitted his tactical changes failed, and that the team could not create enough chances.

Slot added:
“We are in a very bad spell. It’s that simple. We play in the Champions League in a few days. We have quality players. It’s my job to get the best out of them. I’m not doing that at the moment.”

For now, Redknapp’s message is clear: Liverpool should stick with Slot. But with another game coming quickly and results getting worse, the club may soon face a very difficult choice.
