“Always God” – Akwa United Head Coach Paul Offor Reacts After Hard-Fought Win Over Abakiliki FC

Akwa United head coach, Paul Offor, has reflected on his team’s latest victory by sharing an emotional post on social media with the caption “Always God”, following their 1–0 win over Abakiliki FC in the 2025 Nigeria National League season.

Offor went down on his knees at the full-time whistle on Sunday at the Uyo Township Stadium, taking a moment to pray after what was a tense, hard-fought match. On Monday, 24 November 2025, he posted photos of the moment on his social media account, along with other images from the game.

The match remained goalless at half-time before Offor’s changes paid off in the second half. Substitute Erikan Francis scored the winning goal in the 58th minute, securing Akwa United’s second straight victory of the season.

Offor, who joined Akwa United in August with the mandate of returning the team to the Nigeria Premier Football League, continues to guide the Promise Keepers to a strong start, similar to the promotion success he achieved with Sporting Lagos FC.

With two wins from two games, Akwa United will now prepare for their first away match of the season on matchday three, when they face Ekiti United.
