Ibom Angels FC Begin NWFL Campaign Against Naija Ratels in Abuja
Ibom Angels FC will kick off their new Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season today with an away clash against Naija Ratels in Abuja.
The Uyo-based side head into the opening fixture with confidence, following the fresh push from the club’s new management led by Chairman Prince Ukeme Ukpong. The team is also guided by experienced head coach Edwin Okon, who enters his third season in charge.
Okon has enjoyed steady progress with the club — winning promotion in his first year, securing a strong league finish, and reaching the Federation Cup semi-finals last season.
Despite losing several key players from last term, Ibom Angels have strengthened their squad through new transfers, hoping to remain competitive and push for a successful campaign.
Both teams shared victories last season. Naija Ratels came from behind to win the first meeting, while Ibom Angels took revenge in the return fixture in Uyo.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm today at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch, Abuja.
