Ousmane Dembele named The Best by FIFA
Ousmane Dembele picked up another major award after an impressive season with Paris Saint-Germain.
The PSG forward was named FIFA The Best Men’s Player, adding to the Ballon d’Or he won earlier in the year. His performances helped PSG enjoy their most successful season so far.
PSG won the UEFA Champions League for the first time, with Dembele playing a big role throughout the competition. He also helped the club win the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France in France. With victories in the Trophée des Champions and the Super Cup, PSG ended the season with five trophies.
Dembele scored 35 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions. He stood out in important matches, which played a key part in the voting as PSG pushed on to finally win the Champions League.
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal was also in contention after an impressive year. The 18-year-old won multiple titles with Barcelona and lifted the Euro 2024 trophy with Spain, earning the Kopa Trophy for best young player. Still, Dembele’s influence in PSG’s Champions League success gave him the edge.
In the women’s category, Aitana Bonmatí was named FIFA The Best Women’s Player. The Barcelona midfielder enjoyed another good season, winning major titles with her club and shining for Spain at Euro 2025, where she was named Player of the Tournament.
