Kings Knight Spikers Crowned Champions at Edison Volleyball Foundation–AKSVA End-of-Year Challenge

Kings Knight Spikers were crowned champions of the Edison Volleyball Foundation/Academy and Akwa Ibom State Volleyball Association (AKSVA) End-of-Year 4-Aside Volleyball Challenge after a dominant display in the final at the West Itam Sports Center.
The champions sealed the title with a convincing 2–0 victory over De Venom in the final, capping an impressive run throughout the tournament.
Earlier in the semi-finals, De Venom defeated Team Blessed 2–0, while Kings Knight Spikers edged Dr Williams 2–1 in a closely contested match. In the third-place encounter, Dr Williams bounced back to beat Team Blessed 2–0 to finish third.
The tournament attracted strong stakeholder support and notable personalities. Among the guests at the grand finale were the Director of Coaching, Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Sports, Mrs Catherine Ekuta; Dr Paul Umoh, Chairman of the Edison Volleyball Foundation/Academy (EVBF/A) and touted as the next Chairman of the Volleyball Association in Akwa Ibom State; the Chairman of the Coaches Association in Akwa Ibom State, Coach Daniel Umoette; Mrs Janet; Engr Uwah, Engr Mfon, and Engr Nsikak Paulinus, alongside numerous fans and volleyball lovers.
Arc. Emilia Da Silva added colour to the event by sponsoring individual awards for Best Setter, Best Blocker, Best Spiker, and Best Female Player, further motivating players and adding value to the competition. In addition, Builder Kingsley Fidel, popularly known as De Oracle, rewarded excellence by presenting jerseys to the Best Male Player and Best Female Player on each day of the tournament.
There was also cash rewards for the winners. Kings Knight Spikers received a Hundred Thousand Naira for emerging champions. Second to fourth placed teams went home with Fifty, thirty and twenty thousand naira respectively.
Organised by the Edison Volleyball Foundation in collaboration with AKSVA, the end-of-year championship provided a strong platform for competition while promoting the growth and development of volleyball in Akwa Ibom State.
Kings Knight Spikers’ triumph brought the exciting tournament to a memorable close, with organisers and stakeholders praising the quality of play and the rising interest in volleyball across the state.
