Yamal shines at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards
At the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards, Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal walked away with a trio of major honours. He was named Best Forward of the Year, claimed the Maradona Award, and took home Best U23 Player of La Liga award, a remarkable haul that capped off his breakthrough season.
After accepting his awards, Yamal offered a thoughtful message about his approach to the game. Rather than embrace comparisons that often follow young stars, he stressed the importance of forging his own identity.
“It’s best not to compare yourself to anyone,” Yamal said.
“Players like Cristiano Ronaldo did what they did because they wanted to be themselves and not compare themselves to others.”
“I want to build my own path.”
