Sabalenka beats Keys to reach Brisbane Semifinals
Aryna Sabalenka moved into the semifinals of the Brisbane International with a 6–3, 6–3 win over Madison Keys, closing out a rematch of the 2025 Australian Open final.
Sabalenka took control early, breaking Keys’ serve five times in a row. Keys was coming off a long three set match and played with a taped leg, and Sabalenka did not give her time to find rhythm.
The win extends Sabalenka’s strong run in Brisbane to eight straight victories and keeps her perfect at 3–0 in 2026. She has now won 36 of her last 38 matches in Australia.
During her on court interview, Sabalenka drew laughs when she avoided answering a question about a courtside gift that caught her attention, smiling and declining to explain further.
She will next face Karolína Muchová in the semifinals, after Muchová knocked out Elena Rybakina earlier in the day.
