Anastasia Potapova addressed questions about her recent change in representation after fans noticed that her announcement closely mirrored the wording previously used by Daria Kasatkina.
Potapova had released a short public statement confirming she had switched representation, using language similar to Kasatkina’s own message when she announced a change to her management team earlier. The similarity quickly drew attention online, prompting questions about whether the wording was intentional.
Speaking about it afterward, Potapova said she saw no issue with borrowing the phrasing.
“I don’t find anything wrong with that,” she said. “You cannot say it in a better way. Why not? It was perfect words. I loved it. We gave it a shot.”
Kasatkina’s original statement had been praised for its clarity and directness, and its focus on professionalism and respect during a transition rather than controversy. Potapova said that the same approach reflected her own situation and reasoning for the change.
