Peter Ita Scores First NPFL Goal as Warri Wolves Bow to Kwara United

Peter Ita marked a personal milestone by scoring his first ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) goal, but it was not enough to prevent Warri Wolves from losing 2-1 away to Kwara United on Monday evening in Ilorin.

The young forward, making only his second NPFL appearance since joining Warri Wolves in January 2026, struck a brilliant goal in the 75th minute to halve the deficit. However, Kwara United had already established a two-goal lead through Saheed Olaniyi, who scored in the 17th and 48th minutes. Despite Ita’s strike, Warri Wolves could not complete a comeback, with the hosts holding on for the win.

Both Ita and Kwara United’s right-back Yahaya Ibrahim are products of Blessed Stars Football Academy, Uyo. The match gave the two academy graduates the chance to face each other in the top flight. Both impressed with their performances, though Yahaya’s team claimed all three points.

Peter Ita’s goal is a bright moment for the young forward who was signed by Warri Wolves to boost its attack and marked his debut in their 1-0 win against Remo Stars last week.
