Akwa United Reward Fans After Key Victory Over Sporting Lagos
Akwa United have rewarded their loyal supporters following their important win over Sporting Lagos in the Nigeria National League.
The 2021 Nigerian champions announced the winners of their “Predict and Win” promo after their Matchday 14 clash, where fans correctly predicted the team’s 1-0 victory.
In a message shared on social media on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the club confirmed that 20 fans who got the correct scoreline and followed all participation rules, including using the hashtag #WeRiseTogether, have emerged as winners.
The club invited all winners to a short presentation ceremony scheduled to take place at the Uyo Township Stadium by 10am on Saturday, March 21, where each person will receive a brand new Akwa United jersey.
Akwa United also thanked all supporters who took part in the competition, praising their continued backing of the team.
The reward comes after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sporting Lagos on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The match was a crucial one, as both teams were close on the table and fighting for promotion.
Before the game, Akwa United were top of NNL Conference B with 25 points, just one point ahead of Sporting Lagos. The victory has now extended their lead to four points, giving them a stronger position in the race for promotion.
The only goal of the match came from defender Charles Etim, who scored from the penalty spot. He also delivered a solid performance in defence and attack, earning the Man of the Match award.
With only four matches left in the season, the Promise Keepers have boosted their chances of securing promotion as the campaign enters a decisive stage.
