North Korea Women book World Cup return after long Absence
North Korea’s women’s national football team is back on the world stage.
After years away, they’ve secured a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup after a good 4–0 win over the Chinese Taipei women’s national football team at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup playoffs.
The standout performer was Hong Song Ok, who scored a hat-trick to seal qualification.
This is North Korea’s first World Cup appearance since 2011, after years of setbacks that kept them out of major tournaments.
Now, they’re back with a new generation of players and a fresh chance to compete at the highest level.
