Barcelona Move Closer to La Liga Title After Osasuna Victory

FC Barcelona moved closer to winning another La Liga title after a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over CA Osasuna on Saturday night.

The win at El Sadar Stadium gave Barcelona a temporary 14-point lead at the top of the table and put them on the edge of back-to-back league titles.

Barcelona struggled in attack for most of the game as Osasuna defended strongly and looked dangerous on counter-attacks.

Osasuna striker Ante Budimir came close to scoring in the first half with a powerful effort that hit the post. He also forced an excellent save from Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García.

The first half ended goalless, with Barcelona enjoying most of the possession but creating very few clear chances.

The visitors improved slightly after the break, although they still struggled to break down Osasuna’s defence. Midfielder Pedri tried to create openings, but Barcelona’s attackers could not find the finishing touch.

Coach Hansi Flick made important substitutions in the second half, including the introduction of Marcus Rashford.

The change paid off in the 81st minute when Rashford delivered a fine cross for Robert Lewandowski, who headed home to give Barcelona the lead.

Five minutes later, Fermín López set up Ferran Torres, and the forward calmly scored Barcelona’s second goal.

Osasuna pulled one back late in the game through Raúl García, creating a tense finish with eight minutes of added time.

However, Barcelona held on to secure all three points and move even closer to the league crown.

The Catalan club could officially become champions if Real Madrid CF fail to beat RCD Espanyol in their next match.
