Madagascar To Arrive Uyo Monday Afternoon Ahead Of Super Eagles Clash
The Madagascar national team will arrive in Uyo on Monday afternoon ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday.
The Barea, led by head coach Corentin Martins, are expected to arrive in Akwa Ibom State and begin their preparations for the important Group C encounter.
Nigeria will open their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.
Madagascar have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations only once, in 2019, when they made a remarkable run to the quarter-finals.
The Barea have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the tournament and will be looking to make a strong start to their latest qualifying campaign.
Martins, who was appointed Madagascar head coach in January 2025, has qualifying for the 2027 AFCON as one of his major targets.
The arrival of the Madagascar team in Uyo on Monday afternoon will mark the start of their final preparations for Friday’s clash.
The Super Eagles are also expected to begin their preparations in earnest as both teams look ahead to what promises to be an important opening qualifier.
