Red Bull to debut ´halo´ alternative in Russia Grand Prix
Red Bull will debut their ‘aeroscreen’ cockpit protection system during the first practice session ahead of this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix.
With standardised canopy protection potentially in the offing from 2017, Ferrari deployed the ‘halo’ safety device during pre-season testing.
The halo included a central pillar in front of the driver and received mixed reviews from the paddock and fans based on its aesthetics.
The aeroscreen is seen as a potential alternative concept, and Red Bull will complete a lap with it deployed during the opening practice in Sochi on Friday in order to attain driver feedback.
