Why Berlusconi Must Sell AC Milan Now

AC Milan is a team that has been hit with a downward spiral following their poor results in the last four seasons. Silvio Berlusconi has been with the club since 1986 but the financial demands of modern football has left Milan behind in transfer.
The must fans are not happy, Berlusconi must sell the club in order to help preserve the traditional status of the club.
At the end of the 2016/17 season would be 10 years since AC Milan were last crowned Champions of Europe. After 2007, the highest point for Milan has been the 2011/12 season where the team reached the quarter finals of the Uefa Champions League and exited the competition to FC Barcelona.
The rest of Milan’s campaign have all ended brutally at the Round of 16 in exits against Arsenal in 2008, Manchester United in 2010, Tottenham Hotspur in 2011, FC Barcelona in 2013 and Club Atletico de Madrid in 2014.
The team has not featured in the competition since then and the current campaign culminates in a three-year absence for the club.
Milan Fans Are Growing Tired of Berlusconi and the Club’s Management on Player Transfers
Milans woes are all attributed to financial crisis because of the board selling the teams most prized assets and gradually ushering out the youth that are the future of the club.
The question that lingers on the lips of Milanistas is; What happened to the funds accumulated from the sales of Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea FC in 2006, Ricardo Kaka to Real Madrid C.F. in 2009 and the double deal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic / Thiago Silva to Paris Saint Germain in 2012?
The club sold these players who were the crux of Milan and replaced them with average players whose price tags were far below the standards of the club.
The 2016 Summer Mercato is on but so far no players have been linked with Milan. The disappointing thing is the few players who are performing well for the club like Carlos Bacca is being linked with a move away from the club.
To add salt to injury, the board has gone contrary to their word of Milan focusing on Youth to the extent of selling off Stephan El Shaarawy permanently to AS Roma clearly showing that AC Milan had no youth policy.
At a point in time Milan fans were given renewed hope when the name of a certain Mr. Bee came into the spotlight but the deal never materialized.
If rumours about Chinese Investors aiming to purchase Milan are true then Berlusconi must sell the club in order to help the team compete for spots in Europe.
A club with the status of Milan should be competing at the highest level. In the Champions League, it was nine as against seven but at the present day, Madrid has won 11 times, four more than Milan. Aside this, clubs like FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are catching up strengthening their squad year in and year out.
By selling AC Milan, Berlusconi grants the club the chance to compete for talents in the Transfer Window, perform well in Serie A and head back to the pinnacle of European football because that is where AC Milan needs to be.
